About

This exhibit details the life of Horace Rice, a soldier who served in the American Civil War as a private for the Union army between 1861 and 1865. The exhibit aims to tell the story of one of thousands of individual Civil War soldiers whose lives are often untold by historians in favor of the stories of high-ranking soldiers. The site was created as an assignment for The Digital Past, a history and information technology course at George Mason University, taught by Dr. Stephen Robertson.
